Composting Loo

 

Introduction

We operate a composting loo. When properly manged this is much nicer than a smelly plastic porta loo but it does require your assistance in correct usage.

The general idea is to keep the receptical in aerobic break down and not too wet. A good expalation is here. This is primarly done by seperating the wee and the poo.

 

Wee

The wee is seperated via a seperator that diverts urine to a seperate container. Boys, please sit down to wee to achieve this. You will make a mess and upset the balance in the chamber if you try and wee directly into the toilet.

Poo

After you have pooed please sprinkle some sawdust from the black bin ontop of your offering while taking care to not put sawdust into the wee seperator.

Please place wet wipes, sanitry products, nappies in spererate bin provided.
